Back to top Q. How will my fee be calculated? A. Fees are generally based on the market value of assets under management and are payable quarterly in arrears. In addition, under circumstances that Oak considers appropriate, it may enter into special fee arrangements that may vary from the fee schedule described above. The client may pay their fee directly by check, or, with prior written consent, advisory fees may be paid to Oak directly by the custodian selected to maintain the account. Additionally, your bank or brokerage house will charge fees to have physical possession of your assets, as well as transaction costs to execute trades on your account. Oak does not negotiate custodial or transaction costs on your behalf. Back to top Q. In which sectors does Oak invest? A. Your assets will be invested in sectors that we believe will out-perform the market indexes on a 3- to 5-year time frame. Currently, Oak invests in these sectors: Information Technology, Healthcare, Financials, Industrials and Consumer Discretionary. Back to top Q. Will I hold bonds, treasuries, or international securities? A. No, your assets will be invested in domestic equities only. Back to top Q. How many securities will my portfolio hold? A.Your Oak portfolio will hold fewer than 30 securities. Back to top Q. I'm concerned about taxes. How often will you be trading in my portfolio? A. Oak implements a buy-and-hold approach. We invest in those names we think will perform well over a 3- to 5-year time period. (As a result, your portfolio will be tax-efficient.) On average, our turnover rate has typically not exceeded 20% a year. Back to top Q. When would you sell a position out of my portfolio? A. Our sell discipline is quite straightforward. A security would be sold for one of three reasons:
Back to top Q. How much cash will you leave in my account? A. Our approach is to stay fully invested, regardless of the market conditions. The cash balance will not exceed 5% of your total portfolio. Back to top Q. Who has discretionary authority over my account? A. Your signature on the Investment Advisory Agreement (the contract) grants Oak certain discretionary authority relating to the investment of the assets in the account. Oak will have Limited Power of Attorney to trade securities for your account. At all times, the assets are physically in the possession of the custodian selected. Although this discretion enables Oak to trade securities in the account, there can be no assurance that this discretion will result in an appreciation in the value of the account. Back to top Q. How do I terminate my account? A. A client may terminate Oak's investment advisory services at any time.
