Oak Associates is seeking a Summer Associate / Intern.  The individual should be able to demonstrate a passion for the stock market, an in-depth understanding of the financial services industry and a strong work ethic.  A graduate level (MBA) student is preferred, but not required.  Progress or towards the CFA Exam would be an advantage.

The Summer Associate / Intern would assist Oak Associates’ Investment Team with company research, marketing initiatives and database management.  The individual would be exposed to various aspects of investment management industry and its operations.  Some experience or industry knowledge is required to ensure the individual is able to contribute to the success of planned initiatives. 

Only local candidates will be considered.  Absolutely no phone calls please.  Due to the number of applications, the firm will not be able to respond to each and every individual.  Compensation is set per hour, with an end-of-summer bonus potential of 50%-150% of total compensation, depending on performance.

Requirements:

•Tangible experience in financial services industry and/or the ability to demonstrate a passion for investing.

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

•High ethical and professional standards.

•Knowledge of US equity markets.

•The ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

•A strong understanding of technology trends is beneficial.
